Wendi leads the Unit 42 team at Palo Alto Networks. Unit 42 is responsible for threat intelligence, incident response & proactive services, and managed threat hunting, with teams dispersed throughout EMEA, JAPAC, and North America.
Wendi is an inaugural member of the CISA Cyber Safety Review Board (CSRB) and the Duke University Masters in Cyber Security Industry Advisory Board. She is an active member of the World Economic Forum Global Cybersecurity Futures Council.
Prior to Palo Alto Networks, Wendi led the global X-Force team at IBM Security. This team included the Incident Response & Threat Intelligence Teams, & the X-Force Command (Cyber Range). Before IBM, Wendi was a Vice President at CrowdStrike, where she led the CrowdStrike Services team from 2012 to 2016. Prior to CrowdStrike, Wendi was a leader within the Mandiant consulting team for six years, starting as a Principal Consultant and departing as a Managing Director. Wendi joined Mandiant after beginning her career as a Special Agent and Computer Crime Investigator within the Air Force Office of Special Investigations.
Wendi is passionate about cyber security and frequently speaks to executive leadership teams & Boards of Directors about how to strengthen their security programs and address their most pressing cyber threats. She has been a featured speaker at BlackHat, RSA, SANS, the Fortune Most Powerful Women Summit, and the WSJ Academy. She has instructed graduate level computer science and cyber security courses at Carnegie Mellon and George Washington University.
